same difference. a ballad.

Farah and I sitting under the canopy of the slide at the old playground while its pouring around us. We see Gogo and Sharon running towards us. Fighting and shouting at each other. We can only make out some parts of it.

".. i told you... bring umbrella..!"
"you said you're bringing..!!"
"are you dumb..!!"
"what dumb?!! you're dumb!!"
"ah.. shut up la!! hurry up!!"

Farah smiles and looks at me.

"Wan, you know what?"
"What, Far?"
"I think la.. Gogo and Sharon are gonna end up together you know.."
"Haha! are you serious? look at 'em"

Shazril "Gogo" and Sharon Elizabeth still going at it. Gogo accidentally stepped into a puddle and splashes Sharon with mud. Sharon gave him a big whack across his head.

"Oi!! You see!!"
"See what?? nothing to see!!"
"The mud la, ngok!"
"You always got mud all over you what!! same difference la.. call me ngok la!!"
"You run cannot see is it??! blind is it?! buta ke (are you blind)?!!"

Farah looks at me.

"Wan, you just wait and see."
"Hahaha.. k la, Far. Bet!"
"Bet!"

10 years has gone by since that rainy day at the playground. But on Friday, my phone rang out and I was reminded of it. Gogo was on the other side.

"Bro guess what?"
"You finally sold off your power rangers crap?"
"You crazy ke? sell of.. call them crap one more time!! i dare you!"
"Haha! ok ok. Relax man.. Then what?"
"I'm getting married la"
"You getting married??!! Really?? Hahaha.. Do i know the girl?"
"Haha.. you know la.. your old friend also."
"Siapa la (who)?"
"OK ah.. don't laugh ah. Sharon Elizabeth.. "

"..."

"Sharon!! Wahahaha.. you're shittin' me!! serious ke?"
"Seriousla!!"
"I didn't even know you guys were seeing each other!! Sharon.. our Sharon??"
"Hahaha!!!"

It went on like that for awhile. Till I told him the story about what Farah had told me at the playground.

"Eh Haz.. she said that? How come you never told me?"
"Haha! It was a bet between me and her la.. but I think she would be really happy.."
"Yeah.. I wish..."
"I know man.. so do I.."
"Sharon was crying the other night actually thinking about it. She said last time she and Farah had agreed to be each other's ..uh.. best.. girl.. best-girl, is it?"
"Maid of honour la.."
"Yeah.. haha!! girls.."
"She would've wanted it, bro.. man.. sometimes.."
"I miss her too man.."

We talked a bit more about the wedding and everything else about the weekend before putting the phone down.

I can't wait. Apparently, it's a two day affair. On Saturday it'll be at Gogo's place, in all the glory of a traditional Malay wedding (Gogo's a malay muslim). And on Sunday at Sharon's church (She's a Christian). Just like in the movies, with the ceremony in the morning at church and reception back at her parent's. Haha.. finally a reason to take my suit out again. Let's not mess up the pool again guys. haha!! I still remember the look on Uncle Tan's face when he got home!! Lol!! I don't think I've ever ran that fast before and ever again.

I'm really happy for you guys. Two of my oldest closest friends getting married and to each other. Only with you guys that it makes sense to even have your own weddings to be just how either of you would want it to be.And I think it's cool that either of you remain faithful to your beliefs. Goodluck, god bless and I love you both!

Congrats you two! Now go make babies! uhm.. I mean.. after the.. aiyah. You know what i mean la.

ROFL!! Ribena anyone? Eh bro, I think he still remembers la. He told Sharon don't let your friends go near e pool. HAHA! Now he'll be my dad-in-law summore.
