thoughts through the windshield..
I realise how much time I spend in my car. to work.. back home.. running errands. .Heck I think I'm in it more than I am at home. Second only to me being at work. I love my car, never mistake that. But it'll be nicer if it gets cleaned from time to time. or at least for once. (hint*hint*wink*wink)
But sometimes during my journeys, I wish I could just stop and let someone take over the wheel. or just stop. get out and be part of where I'm at. So many times I've missed how blatantly gorgeous the clouds are, how playful the colors are when it rains or simply how poetic the leaves sway when the breeze catches it. Just to be a passenger would be so nice. I envy my brother, who ridiculously sleeps 5 seconds after entering any form of vehicle, for just having that chance to look out and take off with his thoughts. As I return home everyday after work when it's usually night out and I'm stationary at a red light or a junction, I find myself always at the edge of my seat with my chin resting on the steering wheel peering out through the windshield just trying to catch a glimpse of the night sky.. So often I'll tell my friend how amazing it would be to be able to fly. Leaving everything of anything below.
I miss my days when i was younger when I'd sneak out at night to hike up the hill behind the school and into the jungle to come out into the clearing where I'll lie down looking up with nothing between me and those tiny sparkles of light imagining my imaginings. How sad it feels to now only have time in between red lights and behind windshields.
Goodnight.
In the still of the night, as I gaze out of my window,
At the moon in it's flight, my thoughts all stray to you.
